National Time Trial
This registration form is particular to the National Championship Individual Times Trial which will take place along Ngwerere Road from Bonanza to Kasisi and back. The cyclists will race 40KM and the fastest individual will be crowned National Championship Individual Time Trial Champion and The Fastest MAN.
The 40km Time trial National Championship is an electrifying event that will showcase the prowess of cyclists from all corners of the country. This Challenging race format demands stamina, strategy, and precision, making it one of the most prestigious events in the cycling world.
A time trial is a unique discipline where riders compete against the clock, rather than head-to-head. In the case of the 40km time trial participants race individually over a 40km course. The Primary objective is to complete the course as quickly as possible. Unlike traditional road races, there are no team dynamics at play here, and its all about each cyclist’s ability to pace themselves, and handle the physical demands, and maintain the highest level of aerodynamic efficiency.
The Challenge
One might think that 40km is relatively short distance compared to the epic stages of grand tours, but the time trial is completely different beast. It is merciless battle against the clock and one’s own limits. Cyclist must find the perfect balance between power output and aerodynamics, as even the slightest error in pacing or positioning can lead to precious seconds lost. Unlike the peloton in road races, there’s no shelter or drafting assistance in a time trial, which means riders face the full force of wind resistance.
